Daily Routine
All students who are engaging in Alternative Provision will be collected and returned to their home via a taxi that is organised by The Woodlands; there is no additional cost to parents/carers.
Depending on where the alternative placement is and the travel time needed the taxi will collect students from 8am and students will return by 3.30pm.
Our placements are for five hours a day and will run from either, 9.00am until 2.00pm or 9.30am until 2.30pm. During this time the students will have access to curriculum lesson, vocational lessons and PSHE lessons.
When students arrive they will be offered breakfast and during the day students will have access to drinks throughout the day and lunch.
Breakfast Club
It is important for pupils to start the day with a nutritious breakfast. Evidence shows that providing a healthy school breakfast at the start of the school day can contribute to improved readiness to learn, increased concentration, and improved wellbeing and behaviour.
Therefore, all students who are attending Alternative Provision will be offered breakfast through the Breakfast Club Initiative. This could include cereal, toast or bagels.
Uniform whilst attending alternative provisions
Although we do not have a dedicated uniform and that whilst at alternative provision students will be engaged in some workplace or sporting activities we require students to be dressed suitably. This will include:
- Black jumper or hoodie with small logo where possible
- Black leggings only
- In the summer tops should cover the stomach and cleavage area
- Shorts for males and females need to reach knee length
- Girl’s legging type shorts again need to be black and knee length
- Footwear should be appropriate for the activities and sliders will not be acceptable
