All students who attend Alternative Provision within County Durham will have transport included. All transport is arranged through The Woodlands Alternative Providers Mentors. Sue Hewitson (AP Mentor) coordinates the transport and can be contacted on: 07932006230.
All taxi drivers are DBS checked and cleared to transport students. All Taxi companies have been accessed through Durham County Council and are fully licensed.
The taxi company will arrange the dedicated pick-up time depending on the distance of travel to the placement. Typically, drivers will arrange to meet students before their placement starts. \typically, students will be collected from 8.00am and return by 3.30pm.
Students will often share transport with other Woodlands students who are attending the same provision. We expect our students to adhere to the rules of the taxi companies including:
- To be respectful to the drivers and other passengers
- Wear seatbelts at all times
- Act appropriately to limit distractions to the driver
- Any damage caused parents/carers will be liable for.
