The Woodlands access the Durham County Council Directory of Alternative Provision Providers. This directory of alternative providers offers the Woodlands a range from which to select to make a placement based on the individual needs of our students.
The primary purpose of this service is to offer alternative provision placements to Key Stage 3 (Years 7-9) and Key Stage 4 (Years 10 and 11) pupils.

A placement will provide opportunities for appropriate achievement and accreditation across the broad range of curriculum content and activities and prepare young people for future careers. Where possible a student will be placed within an identified cluster of Alternative Provision Providers to meet their individual needs.
Our five-day Alternative Provider package will comprise of one Three-day placement and one Two-day placement based around the students needs. The three-day placement will focus on academic delivery and the Two-day placement will offer a vocational/therapeutic experience.
