Wind turbines – 5.6.24
As part of our Ogden Trust Partnership, teachers from one of our partner schools visited our pupils (from year 7 to 9) to deliver a STEM activity relating to renewable energy resources. During the session pupils became engineers for the afternoon! Firstly, designing their own wind turbines then constructing them, testing with hair dryers and finally adapting designs to improve efficacy.
Pupils enjoyed the session and gave some great feedback:
‘The wind turbines is a really fun activity and a lot of people may want to be engineers. For me, I want to become an engineer because it was fun’ and ‘I loved the wind turbines project’.
