SOUTH WEST PANEL – OUTREACH PLAN OVERVIEW
Aims: To develop and deliver a pilot KS3 Outreach Provision in conjunction with the South West Panel Area:
- Support South West panel area in reducing permanent exclusions in KS3
- Support pupils in South West panel area to remain in their mainstream setting
- Support pupils in South West panel area during managed moves in coordination with DCC
- Provide a positive nurturing environment conducive to learning and personal development
- Promote an ethos for high aspirations to support children in sustaining long term educational placements
- Model behaviour and values enabling children to understand and learn to manage their feeling, emotions and behaviour
- Develop collaborative and reflective relationships with families and partner agencies which ensure appropriate support
- Promote challenging but achievable learning and social experiences
- Develop and sustain inclusive practice where children with complex and challenging behaviour are supported to access the curriculum
- Deliver a wide range of nurturing and therapeutic interventions to support children in developing resilience
- Promote effective strategies and tools to provide a holistic assessment of need, personalised plans and a review framework to monitor progress
Aims to create effective interventions:
- Collaboration and involvement between South West panel area schools, families and partner agencies
- Careful identification of children’s needs
- Clear referral systems will need to be established
- Early identification of barriers to learning
- Establishing high levels of self esteem
